It has been informally (and unofficially) documented that every successful person who has succeeded in creating multiple sources of passive, residual income has had written goals and dreams.
They rehearse and review them daily. They have a clear picture of what they want. They have a full understanding and feeling of what their lives will be like when they when they get there.
Here is a list of mini-exercises successful people use to help them get clear on and stay focused on their dreams and goals.
1. They have “dream boards” where they have pictures of what they want. These can be pictures from a magazine, actual photos of a dream home (for example), or drawings they have made.
2. They visualize it. This was a biggie for Napolean Hill in his book Think And Grow Rich. Close your eyes and see your dreams and goals as already accomplished. Feel what it will be like when they come true and when you achieve your goals. In your mind’s eye see what you did to make it happen.
3. They talk with and associate with people who have achieved what they want. Often these people will tell you how they did it. Adapt what they tell you for your situation, but by all means learn from their success!
4. They listen to CDs, watch videos, and read books about their dreams and goals. Remember, you tend to become what you think about the most. Fill your mind with everything you can about what you want.
5. They attend workshops and seminars, or they purchase home study courses on the “how to’s” of achieving their dreams and goals. In other words, continually seek out help from others who have already traveled the pathway leading to where you want to go.
One other gimmick they use is to eliminate the word “IF” from their vocabulary when talking about or thinking about their dreams and goals. IF is replaced by “WHEN”. In their minds there is no question that their dreams and goal will become a reality!
