Are You Using The New Paradigm Of MLM Recruiting OR Are You Stuck In The Old?

Mike Dillard has changed MLM prospecting and recruiting forever! I’ve been in network marketing for two and a half years now and I thought I was a pretty good recruiter.

That’s until I read “Black Belt Recruiting” and listened to the 6 hours of the black belt training provided by Mike Dillard and Mark Wieser.

The “Black Belt Recruiting” package contain a booklet, written by Mike Dillard, which provides a powerful and helpful context for the CDs. The CDs, which is a recording of a teleseminar series Mike and Mark did together. The information provided is revolutionary in terms of how most of us approach working with our prospects or leads.

Throughout the materials “attraction marketing” is assumed; namely, that rather than buying leads and having to chase them around to get them to talk to you, you’ve set up a marketing system that brings highly qualified leads to you. Mike Dillard covers the how to’s of this in his powerful book, “Magnetic Sponsoring”, so this is not the focus of “Black Belt Recruiting”. It is assumed.

“Black Belt Recruiting” teaches how to implement successful network marketing prospecting strategies and the principles of attraction marketing when you’re talking to leads or prospects that have found you.

For me the most helpful part of the booklet and CDs was the discussion of “posturing”. Posturing has to do with the mindset of a leader and how to convey to your prospects that you are someone with whom they want to work.

They clearly demonstrate how taking on the posture of a leader, who can provide prospects with tons of value and all of the coaching and mentoring they’ll need to be successful in their business, AND will lead prospects to want to sign-up as one of your business partners.

Several “aha’s!” for me include:

  • Understanding why the way I was talking with my leads was in fact pushing them away, rather than attracting them to me and my business.

  • Discovering that I was managing my time wrong; namely, I was spending a good deal of my time each day performing activities that were not income producing activities.
  • Learning how to demonstrate my leadership to prospects without bragging and arrogance; it’s all about bringing high value to their lives.

Mike and Mark also go through 25 common objections or questions which frequently arise when working with prospects. They discuss the questions and how to answer them in ways that are in line with attraction marketing – not begging prospects to join your team or having to twist their arms, but in a simple, straightforward manner offering them an opportunity to change their lives.

It’s that take it or leave it, no BS posture (there’s that word again!) that not only disqualifies people who would not be good business partners, but it further attracts the right people who are serious, teachable, and willing to work.

Other topics covered on the CDs include how to leverage your time and resources, effective follow-up, time management, and how to make money from your recruiting activities so that can continue to fund your marketing campaigns.

I heartily recommend “Black Belt Recruiting” to people who are just getting started in network marketing and to the seasoned pros. There’s a great deal to learn here, no matter how long you’ve been around!
